Site Specific Installation, Croxley Baptist Church Window Gallery. December/January 2023 - 2024
Books, bills and threadbare clothes are staples we work through rearing children (and the material things they need and grow out of) tirelessly trying to keep everyone fed, housed and safe. I think its important to reflect on the nativity story over Christmas if only to be thankful for what we have got in the UK: a hospital round the corner if anyone gets sick, and a foodbank nearby if for whatever reason can't manage. Thank God there was a midwife to catch both of my babies, when I think Mary had no-one but Joseph, and I doubt a carpentry apprenticeship quite covers childbirth! It's such a fragile scene, and one gently mirrored in our own birth stories, I understand the whole thing could have unravelled in an instant.
Art in the Park 2023
Victoria set up the Art in the Park Community Association with fellow artists Jackie Uphill & Eleanor Sidaway. With support from Three Rivers Council and Abbots Langley Parish Council we brought over 20 visual artists to Leavesden Country Park last summer to exhibit work and offer art tasters to the local community. We had a number of live musicians performing on the day.

Contribution of photographic works and pin board installation by artist Iza. Nez. Close up of bricks, made from stacked, recycled cardboard.
We are merely moving shadows, busy rushing around, storing up wealth for someone else to spend. Psalm 39:6 NIV
What do we leave behind? Were we kind? Just? Fair? Is our existence material? Have we chosen to rear and nurture young? Do we serve a higher purpose? Or the instant gratification of our own desires?
This joint exhibition with artist Iza Nez is an exploration of musings, materials and debris, contemplating our own experiences of motherhood, climate change and the things we impart to others.
